Local Food Advocates
To help interested people learn more about the benefits of eating Slow and local, Slow Food Seacoast partners with Seacoast Eat Local, Seacoast Local, and Seacoast Growers Association to train a corps of Local Food Advocates.
These enthusiastic and informed volunteers talk with people at the farmer’s markets and other events and festivals. Local Food Advocates can:
- Provide maps and information on weekday farmer’s markets run by SGA in Portsmouth, Durham, Dover, Exeter, Hampton, and Kingston
- Share copies of Seacoast Harvest
- Describe the many ways eating locally benefits our economy, culture, health, and environment
- Let folks know about upcoming events, classes, and opportunities to get more involved in local food
We are always looking for more Local Food Advocates to help reach new people and spread the word! There’s a simple, tw0-hour training program. To inquire about our next training session, please email SlowFoodSeacoast@GMail.com
