Potluck Dinners/Meetings

Slow Food Seacoast hosts potluck dinner meetings regularly throughout the year. They are open to the public and free! To minimize waste and cleanup time, whenever possible, please bring your own dining kit (plate, bowl, drinkware, cutlery, and napkin), serving utensil for your potluck dish, and beverage(s) to these events, for you and your companions. If you have never attended a potluck before, please click on About Our Potlucks for information about what to expect.

Upcoming Potlucks

Sunday, August 1: 4th Annual Slow Food Seacoast Down-on-the-Farm Picnic

This year for our annual farm picnic, Slow Food Seacoast is bringing home the idea of local food production by visiting a New Hampshire homestead on which one family has created a low-impact living space that is ecologically connected to the natural world! By working with nature’s cycles, simplifying their lifestyle, and planting a highly diverse landscape (as well as benefiting from wild offerings), the Rowells successfully produce most of their own food and generate very little waste.
The theme is “Weeds & Seeds,” and we’ll celebrate heirloom produce varieties as well as other gifts from nature (sometimes referred to as weeds). With the owners as your guides, learn how the Rowells live sustainably and self-sufficiently with an in-depth tour of the property, demos of “the chicken tractors”, and more. Activities will include
