SF Portland Annual Meeting

This note comes from Slow Food Portland, who will be having their annual meeting on Nov. 12. This may be a good chance to gather ideas as Slow Food Seacoast gradually develops its structure as well!

**
Hi everyone, last year at an open group meeting we established a committee
structure and elected officers to govern Slow Food Portland. Since then
we’ve managed operations through these groups, which has worked out well. I
can hardly keep up on all the activity! But it’s important that we continue
to host public meetings periodically to bring in fresh ideas and ensure
broad participation. It’s time now to reflect on the past year, ask for
feedback and new volunteers, and develop ideas for the year ahead.

We are of course an all volunteer local chapter of Slow Food USA, dependent
on the efforts and goodwill of the community. Although Slow Food has a
membership structure at the national level, here in Portland we’re open to
involvement by anyone interested. So please feel free to come to this
meeting to make your voice heard regardless of your membership status–if
you care about the principles of Slow Food, this is your organization too.
If you’ve got a pulse and an opinion we want your participation.

One of our core beliefs and guiding principles is that meetings go down
better accompanied by good food and wine. Please bring something to share if
you can, but also know it’s fine to show up empty handed, we’ve always got
plenty of food.

Date: Monday, November 12
Place: Portland Public Market House kitchen, Monument Square (in the
basement below K. Horton Specialty Foods–stairs are across the aisle from
her shop, on the left) http://publicmarkethouse.com/
Time: 6-8 pm
